"In Texas - had to replace this roof 3 x"
We live in Dallas tx. We purchased our house in 2000. It had a beautiful Classic Metal - Country Manor Shake roof. Fabulous, a lifetime roof! Wonderful. Then... We had hailstorms, as we do in Dallas, and we had to replace the roof in roughly 2007 ($40k). We replaced it with the same thing beautiful again. Then again due to hail. In 2012 ($40k). We had more hail in 2016, and are now having to replace it again. The aluminum shingle gets very dented. Not cracked, but sufficiently dented whereby the insurance adjusters "total" the roof. Suffice it to say, it will not be with a Classic Metal Roof. I called the factory to talk to them about their rating for hail, and apparently no one knows if they have any rating, which means that for sure they don't. It is also not on the product data sheet. I think this is a great roof, but not suitable to be sold/installed in hail area. So, suffice it to say that the the roofing contractor that we used is the one that made out on selling us the same stupid roof now 3 X. So, for sure we will be buying something else! Good luck.
