History
In 1892 Edison General Electric Company and The Thomson-Houston Company merged to form GE. In March 2004, GE Energy acquired AstroPower, a Delaware-based solar panel manufacturer, and extended its product line.
Photovoltaic (PV) Product Lines
GE's solar module product line covers 30 to 165 watts. The solar modules are heavy duty and easy to mount. Their products use the single crystal silicon solar cell, which works at full capacity in low light conditions and charges the battery in hot weather. They also have packaged systems for residences and remote areas which are off the power grid.
