"Complete Garbage!"
Bottom line: Fafco has poor quality, abysmal customer service, does not honor their warranty, and bad judgement in selecting authorized contractors. In February, 2016, we contracted Florida Solar East to install a solar heating system. They used eight Fafco solar collectors and botched the plumbing in the process. In the summer of 2018, the first collector sprung a leak. Shouldn’t be a problem, there’s a twelve-year parts and replacement warranty… Well, that only applies to the panel, not any associated service calls. Florida Solar East wanted to charge us for the assessment, then another one to attempt to repair the panel, then another one to replace it, if necessary. We then complained to Fafco who stated that they had had numerous complaints against their authorized contractor, Florida Solar East, and they have since terminated their relationship with them. They then referred us to a different contractor, Sunlight Solar. The second contractor was much more pleasant to work with and seemed reasonably competent, but they understandably charged a service fee to install the warranty replacement collector. This was all said and done by the end of October, 2018. The second collector sprang its leak in November, 2018 and the third in December. So in the span of less than three years, three of the original eight panels have sprung leaks. We feel we should not have to pay service charges for defective solar collectors manufactured by Fafco. We have complained to Fafco, and they have now stopped returning our calls. The second contractor has come out and attempted to obtain warranty replacements for the other two collectors, and Fafco has refused the warranty with the excuse that the leaks are related to an installation problem. Granted, the original installation was pretty poor, but it is difficult to believe that three of eight panels should suffer latent installation damage, and none of them are anywhere near a coupling or object that could cause a leak within the body of the panel. Even though this second installer is an authorized contractor for Fafco, they do not recommend Fafco for new installations due to their poor quality and reliability. We have talked to other installers as well, none of whom recommend Fafco. As a result, we now have a $5K eyesore on the roof that is completely useless except to drain the pool.

"Worst Decision Ever"
I had to contact a lawyer. No! Never! Ever! Hire them! Folks, they are incompetent and very unprofessional. They started installing on the neighbor's house, cut their pipes! They installed the wrong solar controller, staff is very rude and extremely incompetent, not allowed back. They have no one else to send. 5 weeks (35 days!) later and our solar is still not working! The wiring is incorrect and the controller is not communicating with the pump, the valve has never moved. So bad!

"Solar Pool Heating"
My solar system is 8 years old. Have 7 panels, have had to replace all the panels at least once, some twice. Fafco carries a warranty of 15 years, The company that installed the panels originally is out of business. I live in the South Florida area which is heavily populated. You would think that in the last 5 years Fafco would have found a company in the south Florida area to install and service their product but I don't think customer service is a priority for Fafco. The current company that services Fafco products in south Florida, Florida Solar East, is located 5 hours away. The were scheduled to be at my house today so I took time from work to be here. At 1:30 I call them to find out if they had any idea when someone would be out. I get a call back telling me they would not be out today. Fafco says they have no control over their dealers. I would do no business with either of these companies if I did not have to.

"Poor Warranty care"
Have had fafco solar panels for the pool for 5 years then leaks started. At $150 a visit to fix each time it became worse. Won't replace the panel(s) even when leak reached hose level. Company refers you to dealer & dealer charges you the same price as a new panel for a repair. Better off putting up yourself off the net. Useless warranty.

"FAFCO Revolution Solar Pool Collector is a must for pool owners that want to get the most use out of their pool."
We had the solar panels installed on our roof about 6 months ago. We love that since we had the panels installed we have been able to get months of pool time with water warm enough to swim in. Prior to the panels we would be finished swimming in the pool in September and not able to swim again until May. With the panels we are able to swim until November and then start swimming again in March. Its really is wonderful. I enjoy that the system keeps are pool to the temperature we set it at (usually 80 degrees) and I have noticed no difference in our electric bill. The only downfall is that you have to keep a cover on the pool to keep the heat in. But even the cover is very easy to put on and take off. The installation only took one day and we have not had any problems with it. Initially we thought it wasn't working properly because it wouldn't turn on automatically. But (we found out when the technician came out to look at it) that there is a sensor near the panel that does not allow the system to turn on if the panels are too cold. No reason to waste energy running water through cold panels. As soon as the panels get warm it will automatically turn on. I would definitely recommend purchasing a FAFCO Revolution Solar Pool Collector. In fact I have recommended it to some friends already. It really allows us to get the most out of our pool.
